It takes a certain confidence to write a book. a certain acceptance that someone wants to hear what you have to say. an assumption that someone cares what you think or what you’ve experienced. the same goes for blogging or online journaling. that is if you’re intent is for other people to read what you write. but by putting your thoughts in a public forum on the internet, aren’t you just admitting your desire to be read by others. that you want people to be interested in what you have to say. that you want others to share your life with you, even if it is in such a distant and strange manner. is blogging modern companionship? does it replace calling all your friends and telling them your stories? is it lazy? can i ask all these questions while i do it myself? i won’t lie. i want to be heard. i’m no different than anyone else. i also want to try to keep track of my life and try to remember the thoughts i forget so easily. the ideas that come and go. and the memories i fail to record. oh and someday i do want to write a book. so maybe this will be my tool to get my thoughts together.
with that i begin. it is my goal to post everyday. even if i am the only one who will ever read this.
